True Yield: A Realignment of Incentives for ABOND Holders

Over the past year, ApeBond has continued to grow where it matters most. Bonds are working. Capital is being raised efficiently, partners are growing their liquidity, and our OTC Marketplace has become one of the strongest concepts in DeFi.

However, one major gap has remained clear. While Bonds thrived, the success of the platform was never fully tied back to the people holding and committing to ABOND.

Real Yield was introduced over a year ago to address this. Since launch, stakers have consistently earned rewards, paid in BNB, with APRs ranging between 30% and 60%, and sometimes even higher. The system worked, it was sustainable, and rewards were delivered every single week.

But it was not enough. The incentives were not strong or long-term enough to truly align users with the growth of the protocol. That changes now.

This December, we are introducing True Yield.

What is True Yield?

True Yield is a full revamp of ApeBond’s yield system, built around one core idea: long-term alignment between the protocol and its committed users.

True Yield brings back veABOND, expands lock mechanics, reworks APR distribution, and directly connects yield, tiers, and incentives into a single system. In short, commitment now matters more than ever.

True Yield reintroduces veABOND with significant structural improvements. Users can now lock ABOND for longer periods, without penalties for increasing their position. Unlike the old Real Yield system, adding more ABOND to an existing lock will not reset the lock timer.

New Lock Options

Lock options are expanded as well, being able to lock for up to 2 years, or even create a permanent lock (Permalock), for incremental bonuses.

Permalock creates a veABOND position with no expiry. It is a permanent commitment to ApeBond and comes with maximum incentives.

When creating a Permalock position, 80% of the underlying tokens will be burnt forever, while the remaining 20% will be added to the Ecosystem Fund to further fuel the ABOND growth via strategies like Buyback & Burn Bonds.

Positions that are not actively re-locked will see their points decay over time. This ensures that rewards favor users who continue to commit long-term the most. Users can easily toggle the Autolock option to keep their lock time constant automatically.

Managing veABOND positions is intentionally simple, and veABOND remains transferable, just like any other veToken.

Points, Multipliers, and Earning Power

In True Yield, points represent earning power.

Points determine:

• Your share of True Yield rewards
• Your effective APR
• Your Ape Tier level
• Access to future benefits like AirBonds (more on this below)

Your locked ABOND will have a multiplier depending on the lock duration:

• Permalock: 4x multiplier
• 2 Years: 2x multiplier
• 1 Year: 1x multiplier
• 6 Months: 0.5x multiplier

As an example, a position with Permalock earns four times the points and four times the APR of a position locked for one year with the same amount of ABOND.

This way, longer locks are rewarded directly and proportional to their commitment.

Cleaner APR Model, Paid in USDT

In True Yield, APR is now automatically tied to locking commitment. Longer locks earn a higher APR. Shorter locks earn less.

All rewards are distributed in USDT, ensuring consistency and eliminating reward volatility tied to token price changes on BNB.

Rewards are distributed in weekly epochs. Every week, protocol performance determines the amount allocated to True Yield, which is then distributed based on each user’s points.

This directly connects Bonds activity, protocol performance, and ABOND holder rewards in a single loop.

And There’s More

Introducing AirBonds

Ape Tier holders will also receive AirBonds.

AirBonds are bonus Bonds airdropped to users, featuring partner tokens. These rewards scale with tier level and bonded volume, meaning higher commitment and purchases unlocks access to larger allocations.

AirBonds are another tool to reward the most active users, both in terms of ABOND locking and Bonds volume.

More details around AirBonds will be released soon, before the first round is distributed.

A New Ape Tier — Mythical

Tier thresholds have been updated to better reflect the value of ABOND and long-term commitment. The extra discounts per tier are being re-scaled to give more value to the ABOND token.

Additionally, a new Ape Tier is now available: Mythical. This tier requires 1,000,000 points, grants a 5% extra discount on all Bonds, and unlocks the highest level of AirBond rewards.

Extra discount bonuses are applied to all Bonds except Solana.

On-Chain Governance & Token Dashboard

True Yield and veABOND unlock the possibility for on-chain governance.

As veABOND adoption grows, governance mechanisms will allow committed holders to actively shape the future direction of the protocol using their locked positions and accumulated points, directly on-chain.

Additionally, an ABOND dashboard with key token metrics will soon be released, including burn statistics, circulating supply, accumulated rewards, and more!

Migration From Old Pools

The migration from the old pools to the new True Yield is set to start on December 18th. Once migration opens, users will have 6 days to migrate in order to qualify for rewards in the first epoch.

Don’t worry, we’re making the migration to True Yield as easy as it gets:

• One transaction
• Fully handled through the UI
• Clear information on new points and APRs

Users who do not migrate within 3 months will forfeit any pending rewards from the old tier-staking pools.

True Yield is a structural change that finally connects Bonds performance, protocol revenue, and ABOND holders into a cohesive system. The more you commit, the more you earn, and the more benefits you get in the ApeBond platform.
